Do you still have your old toys and games from your childhood?

I went through my closet and found a few of my old things from 1994-1998. I found my sisters Skip it and my original Twister game (The Realy old one like from the 80s or something). Also found my sockem Bobers. Couldnt believe what i found in there. Started to play Break the Ice cause that was my favorite game when i was 5. Found an old nitendo inside as well. But it Cr@ped out on me in the middle of mario… Good thing my Genises still works. Cant beleive i still have these things. Also found a 1985 Hess Truck in there. Just wondering if anyone else still has there old stuff?

Why are the press and other media reporting the lead-tainted toys the way they are?

For 200 years or more, toys have been painted with brilliant reds, yellows, greens, and blues. Toy wooden wagons then lincoln logs, then Fire engines for johnny, and painted russian dolls and doll houses for lil Suzy. Guess what? All of those paints and most of the metals were full of lead. Probably were up until the 70s or 80s. Toys were only safe for like 10 years. Now china is going through the same lead issues because no one told them any better. When you start buying their cars soon, you will all die beccause they crumple like paper in crash tests. LOL
Anyways, your parents and every ancestor prior played with toys full of lead. This can only mean one of two things…. they are all brain damaged mutants (your whole family) or a bit of lead never hurt anyone.
The press is acting like this is news and unprecedented. Shortsighted ignorant morons.
The question is really:
Why is the press acting like toys have never had lead in them before – don’t they put anything into historical context, or merely “hysterical” context?

What are small plastic toys of samurai solders called?

They are about an inch tall and made of solid one-piece plastic. They may have been a toy that went as a gift with some product in the 80s.

What is the name of this 80s children’s movie about toys coming to life?

This movie was put on at school when I was in kindergarten in 1989 (although it wasn’t educational at all, or at least I can’t imagine how it could have been). I don’t remember the overall storyline really, but I do remember a few major details quite vividly because this movie was quite creepy/borderline scary to my class. It was a live action movie that had the basic elements of Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story, where various toys lived in a child’s room, and when the child was out, the toys “woke up” and carried on some sort of life. The creepy part was that the mother (whose face I don’t believe was ever shown) would sometimes come clean up the child’s room, and if a toy was touched by her, it could never come to life again. I’ve been googling from time to time for the past few years trying to figure out anything about this movie, but with no luck whatsoever. I’d appreciate any insight you have. Thanks!

Does anyone remember the name of those food toys that were combat soldiers?

They were released in the late 80s to early 90s. They were food, like there was this hamburger, that had arms and legs and were action toys. 10 points to who ever remembers the name of these toys.

How much lead was there in the toys created at home before the move to China manufacturing?
